Thank you for visiting my webpage. I published my first book, "Amazing Adventures of My Childhood in Cleveland (And How I Survived)" in August 2026. I have already started on the sequel, and hope to finish it within the next year. If you have read my first book, I hope you feel you already know me as a friend. I am sure we share many feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1954. My mother took advantage of the wonderful, free museums in Cleveland, and I developed a love of the arts. My love of writing and art opened opportunities and colored my world throughout my life.
Before graduating from Lakewood High School, I was awarded a full scholarship to the University of Chicago at age sixteen. I left the life of academia to live on a farm in southern Michigan, where I enjoyed horses, sheep, chickens, geese, dogs, and cats. Eventually, I completed a bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and a law degree at Cooley Law School, in Lansing, Michigan.
My lifelong career with the State of Michigan allowed me to grow personally and professionally. My empathy as a caseworker was enhanced by my own childhood experiences with divorce, poverty, family members with mental illness, and prejudice. My career developed my writing skills, first as a policy analyst and later as an attorney.
I enjoy painting watercolors, especially of wildlife and birds. My work was exhibited at the Gerald Ford Museum during the Grand Rapids Art Prize festival in 2024. In addition to painting and writing, I enjoy spending time with friends, gardening, cooking, reading, and watching movies.
I live in Lansing, Michigan, with my husband Enrique and my cat Katrina. I have cultivated many wonderful friendships, and I visit my daughter Brooke and grandson Adi in Ann Arbor regularly.
